- Feasibility Study — technical, financial and operational assessment
Our solution for agroindustry
Agricultural processing generates large volumes of wastewater. When treated in conventional open lagoons, that wastewater can become one of the largest sources of methane emissions on your site—wasting energy that could otherwise be recovered, and exposing your operations to tightening wastewater and carbon regulations.
Gree designs, builds and commissions biogas infrastructure that captures this methane and converts it into renewable energy and carbon credits—and, where appropriate, upgrades the gas to certified biomethane or BioLNG. Every solution is tailored to your feedstock—from palm oil mill effluent (POME) and empty fruit bunch (EFB) co-digestion to cassava effluent and dairy wastewater—with full EPC delivery from feasibility through to commissioning.
Reduce energy costs from day one. Unlock carbon revenues over time.
How We Work
EPC Delivery — from design to commissioning
We design and build biogas infrastructure optimised for your feedstock — POME, EFB, cassava effluent, or dairy waste.
For liquid waste streams up to 8% solids, we deploy our GIBR (Ground-Integrated Bioreactor) technology, now in its fourth generation after more than 25 years of continuous improvement and 77+ installations across Southeast Asia.
Our systems combine internationally proven digester technology with fully local Indonesian procurement and construction — helping reduce delivery cost, simplify maintenance, and ensure long-term operational support after handover.
We work directly with the original inventors of lagoon digester technology. This is not a licensed copy, but an original site-specific design continuously improved through decades of real-world operation.
Carbon Development — built in from day one
Every facility can be designed to support carbon credit generation, depending on the owner’s objectives and compliance requirements.
We manage carbon project registration, verification, and methane credit issuance under internationally recognised standards — turning emissions reductions into a long-term revenue opportunity, not just a compliance cost.
Gree is Asia's only B Corp-certified biogas solutions provider, with a proven carbon track record: independently validated and verified under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), with a 7-year guaranteed offtake agreement covering the full carbon credit production from the Hamparan project.
Feasibility First — clarity before commitment
Before any investment decision, we provide a clear assessment of biogas yield, energy output, carbon credit potential, operational requirements, and expected payback.
Our feasibility work is designed to help operational teams and management evaluate projects with confidence — technically, financially, and operationally.
Where long-term offtake agreements are secured, we can also explore financing structures that reduce or eliminate upfront capital requirements.

Why partner with Gree Energy?
Technology with a 25-year track record
Our GIBR (Ground-Integrated Bioreactor) technology was developed together with the original inventors of lagoon digester systems and refined through more than 25 years of operation.
Today, the system is proven across 77+ commercial installations across Southeast Asia, continuously improved through real operational experience, and designed specifically for the realities of agro-industrial wastewater in the region.
Every system is built on an architecture we know from the inside out — not a licensed copy, but a technology platform developed through decades of direct operational involvement.
International technology. Local delivery. Local cost.
We combine best-in-class international digester technology with fully local Indonesian procurement, construction, and operational support.
Our systems are designed for high treatment efficiency, reliable long-term operation, and strong biogas yield performance — achieving 97%+ wastewater treatment efficiency and generating up to 20% more biogas than conventional alternatives, helping reduce operating costs from the first year of operation.
Built and supported locally
Every facility is engineered, built, and maintained by local Indonesian teams with long-term operational experience.
Our equivalent systems typically run with just 2–4 operators whilst maintaining reliable day-to-day performance, reducing operational burden, simplifying maintenance, and avoiding the downtime issues common with underperforming alternatives.
Reliable parts availability, local technical expertise, and ongoing post-commissioning support mean there is no knowledge gap after handover. We stay involved long after construction is complete.
One partner. Full lifecycle.
We are more than digester builders. From feasibility and EPC delivery to carbon development, operational supervision, biomethane upgrading, and long-term project development, we support the full biogas value chain.
As carbon, biomethane, and BioLNG markets continue to evolve, our platform is designed to help clients unlock additional layers of long-term operational and commercial value over time.
