0.1 Proyek

0.2 Solusi

The Hamparan project treats the industrial waste water of a cassava starch factory, captures its fugitive methane emissions and transforms these environmental liabilities into renewable energy which is then distributed by the national utility to 19 surrounding villages.

The expected verified emissions reduction is 33,012 tCO2 eq/year.

Eksplorasi SDGs

Discover the Sustainable Development Goals our Hamparan project fulfills:

Goal 3
Improve air quality by avoiding hydrogen sulfide emissions and by preventing troposheric ozone formation
Goal 6
Treat about 300,000 population-equivalent of industrial wastewater
Goal 7
Provide clean and reliable electricity in underserved rural areas
Goal 13
Cuts methane emissions, one of the most effective way to limit global warming

0.7 Tuan rumah proyek

Hamparan Bumi Mas Abadi is a local Indonesian company that produces around 40,000 tonnes of native starch per year from cassava roots locally sourced from approximately 4,000 smallholder farmers. The cassava starch factory has been operational since 2009 and employs almost 100 workers.

Hamparan’s cassava starch factory passed Gree’s ESG safeguard standards:

  • Satellite monitoring and spatial analysis of the mill’s supply chain to verify risk on deforestation and peatland development
  • Compliance and integrity analysis to assess any reputational risk
100%
Deforestation-free assessed
Low reputation and integrity risk
ESG

Gree implements ESG safeguards of the project to strengthen the framework of a project, program or specific action and manage risks concerning the environment, governance and society.
